MHA staff clean up at Kelbounre school

Operation clean up…..Maryhill colleagues get ready to clean up the school grounds

THE team from Maryhill Housing Association have again been doing their bit for the community.

Scores headed out into the Maryhill community for their THIRD “Wee Volunteer Day”.

The effort this time around focused on removing moss from paved areas, de weeding the playground and clearing up litter at Kelbourne Park primary school not far from Maryhill’s office,

There was also a sponsored bag pack at Tesco Maryhill with proceeds raised going to the school. Almost £300 has been collected.

Two previous Wee Volunteer days have taken place in the past year reflecting the commitment to the community by the organisation and its team.

Community Safety Glasgow provided the volunteers with hi visibility vests, litter picking equipment and black bin bags.

Tesco even got involved in the school clean up with Amanda from “Tesco Maryhill Community” lending a hand.

Community Regeneration Manager Ruth Adam who organised the event said: “The Wee Volunteer project reflects our desire to get out there and do our bit for the community.

“Like all housing associations we place great emphasis on community engagement and doing our best for local people. The team at Maryhill responded magnificently to the challenge.”
