Maryhill Housing Association's Annual Residents Conference was held on Saturday November 2 at Ledgowan Hall, Maryhill, the event focused primarily on welfare reform with the help of a dramatic play from performer and actress Naomi Breeze and a very informative talk on the issue from speaker Ken Dow.

A number of exhibitors were also present including Jobs and Business Glasgow, the Territorial Army from Maryhill along with a beauty bar offering free manicures and free fruit from a local healthy eating initiative.

A buffet lunch was served to all those who attended along with a prize draw with a number of star prizes to round off the event.

The Association said the topicality of welfare reform helped ensure the good turnout and that it would continue to offer help and advice on a wide range of welfare reform related issues facing tenants.

We hold a Tenants’ Conference every year.  The theme will be decided by local residents via the seven Residents’ Associations but if you would like to suggest a theme then please contact us.

Many Housing Associations do this and it is a great opportunity for you to attend, meet the staff and our Boad members and listen to what we have been doing in the past year plus what our future plans are.  It is held locally to make it as easy for you to come along as possible.
